Mike spent his early years growing up in a small Western PA steel town before attending the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Upon graduating he went through Airborne and Ranger Training before becoming an Army Fixed-Wing Aviator, just in time to arrive in Viet Nam as an Army Recon Pilot for the 1968 Tet Offensive.
The next few years allowed Mike to fully understand what it was like to serve, be appreciated ... and be scorned.
After many years of military service Mike spent the majority of the next 35 years in Health Care Marketing and Sales associated with hospitals, nursing homes and laboratories in the areas of food service, specialty refrigeration and freezing equipment, diagnostic testing and computerized blood chemistry analysis.
Settling into Texas, the “more senior” years found Mike pursuing the entrepreneurial route with some partners providing those in need with Job-Change & Career-Transition Services before he and others launched a web development and marketing company.
Recognizing the need and opportunity with hundreds of thousands of people finding themselves caught on a daily basis in short-term situations where they are unprotected with medical coverage Mike has now transitioned to putting full energy into the programs described above.
On the personal side, cardiac, weight, blood pressure, allergy and diabetes issues presented me with some serious ‘Senior’ challenges over the last 10+ years – too many lost days, too tired, too many meds, undesirable side effects, etc ... just too many unhealthy issues consuming my life!
There was a lot of pretending with on-again off-again diets, supplements, fasting and exercise. You know the routine, and the results. Finally, a commitment to a concentrated 2006 year-long diet and exercise routine netted 10 less pounds and somewhat better cardio, still leaving a lot to be desired.
Since then, a loss of 24 overall inches and 23 pounds helped me to get to where I needed to be. Blood work, allergies, diabetes and blood pressure are no longer issues. I’m healthier and leaner, and have energy to burn. At 64 I now welcome the forthcoming Medicare years with healthy vitality, a phenomenal attitude and a sincere desire to go on forever!
