Henry SimmonsBorn in Richards Texas in 1921 and came to Florida at age of six months. Did not ride a horse, brought here by my parents.Graduated High School in 1939- Daytona Beach, Florida. Employed by Southern Bell Telco. 1939 Enlisted in USAF in 1942 and completed pilots training in March 1943, commissioned 2nd LT. Served in the China Burma India Theater of War, flying supplies over the Himalayas to assist in keeping China in the war and to supply the Flying Tigers (later to become the 14th Air Force), completed 77 combat missions. Returned to Southern Bell upon termination of hostilities and remained in Air Force Reserve, recalled to active duty for service during the Korean Conflict and was discharged upon termination of hostilities, remained in USAF reserves and retired with rank of LT. Colonel. Primary Military Decorations- Distinguished Flying Cross, two Air Medals, three Campaign Medals, commissioned Honorary Captain in the Chinese Air Force for wartime service in China and awarded Chinese Freedom Medal. Returned to previous employment, promoted to management and served in various capacities with increasing levels of responsibilities. Retired Dec 31, 1983 My spare time was and is spent fishing and hunting the lakes and woodlands of Florida. Enjoy playing cards, primarily poker and bridge. Like to read, especially historical writings. Married to a wonderful lady for twenty five years (Viviane) who enjoys spoiling me, to which I do not resist, two children one grandson. Why did I invent the Sock Genie? Quit smoking and gained weight. Soon it became necessary for my wife to put on my socks. This was embarrassing and decided there must be a better way, researched the Internet and found nothing that seemed practical. Selected a piece of PVC pipe, retired to my little shop and started to work. It is my belief that it is the most practical device on the market today. I located suitable material, secured the patent, found a manufacturer, and now market the sock genie.
