stop smoking questions Frequently Asked Questions How many treatments do you need? For most people only one treatment is needed. However, we do offer booster treatments within the first 6 months at no additional cost. Please call the office to discuss the details of our booster policy. UP How long does the treatment take and when do you start feeling it? The treatment takes about 20 minutes and most feel the effects of the laser immediately. Though you should expect to be at the office for about 40 minutes. UP How do you feel once you are treated? The treatment is very relaxing and some people experience a degree of drowsiness. UP Does insurance cover this? We do not take insurance, but we would be happy to give you some information to submit along with your receipt to your insurance company. Some insurance companies will reimburse for the treatment under needleless acupressure or smoking cessation. Plus we will provide billing codes for our procedure. UP How does the laser work? The light energy of the laser is absorbed by skin and cells by stimulation of acupressure points. It triggers your body to go into a constant release of endorphins, which makes your body feel like it has just had a cigarette.
