Area Agencies on Aging Pennsylvania’s 52 Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) are your source of information for the issues and concerns affecting older people and their caregivers. Each agency offers a wide array of programs to help older Pennsylvanians and their families get the help and information they need. GovBenefits.gov helps citizens access government benefit eligibility information through a free, confidential, and easy-to-use online screening tool. After answering some basic questions, the user receives a customized report listing of local-links of the benefit programs for which the user, or person for whom he or she is entering information, may be eligible. The SeniorLaw Center protects the legal rights and interests of seniors in need, providing free legal services, community legal education, professional training, advice, information and referral services, and advocacy. PA Long-Term Care Ombudsman's Offices This program helps improve the quality of life of residents in nursing homes and personal care homes by acting as residents’ independent advocate. Ombudsman staff and volunteers informally investigate and resolve complaints on behalf of residents. They visit long-term care facilities to be accessible to residents and monitor conditions. Statewide elder abuse hotline or call 1-800-490-8505.Any person who believes that an older adult is being abused, neglected, exploited or abandoned may call the elder abuse hotline.
