How I Formulated My Special Herbal-Medicine
By Dr. Jin Fang

I learned from my father when I was little girl in China. In 1991, I started practice Chinese herbal-medicine in this country.

I have met many Cornell University and Ithaca College students who had depression, anxiety, insomnia and ADD/ADHD. It was new to me. In China, I dealt with most were woman’s health issues.

I developed this formula to treat typically Western ailments. The initial complicated herbal-medicine making procedure was much too complicated, I simplified these procedure and down to pill format. As of three years ago, my herbal formulas were implemented by a top quality California manufacture. The labels are FDA complied.

This is how Happy Mood came from, today, the Happy Mood becomes our most popular herbal medicine in our practice.

Same as Baby Boom I & II formulas, I developed them by patients demanding help with infertility.

The Sinus Care is Jin Fang’s sister, Yu Fang, who is an ear, nose and throat doctor in China. She developed the formula in 1986 for her patients. This is one of the popular herbal-medicines in our practice.

What Is the Difference in Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine?

Chinese medicine is like macro economy, study the big view and the Chi flow with the nature changes. In macro economy, government makes the monitory policy, and they like invisible hands to radiate Chi and people don’t see the actual money flow, but the Chi impact on long term globe economy holistically. They are powerful. Because of historical reason, Chinese herbal medicine is based on philosophy, culture, Yin and Yang theory, Chi and blood flow.

Western medicine is like micro economy; study the detail to find out cause. Just like ordinary people will count the money by dollar to penny. You can see it and value it. You can tell where is the dollar or penny missing? What is wrong with the structure of the body – from cells to DNA...therefore, it treats human body like machine. And it is hard to feel the Chi.

Western medicine is based on the development of modern technology, we still can not explain clearly how Chinese medicine works, and we don’t have proper technology to demonstrate how it works, because we can not measure the Chi. However, Chinese medicine is time tested. If it did not work, it will not last for four thousand years. Today, Chinese medicine is the second largest medicine in the world.

Many things in the nature that can not be measured and can not explain by science, for instance, religious still exists in our life. We can not say that they don’t have impact on us. Religious exists before any medicines. Today, people still pray for their hopes, families and friends.

Why Chinese Herbal-Medicine Formulas Last for Thousands of Years?

Why many of Chinese herbal medicine have no known side effects and they have been used for thousand of years without change formula? Our ancestor knew how to balance Chi with natural resource – ancient healers created five elements (wood, water, metal, earth, fire) theory that best to explain how power of natural Chi can balance each substance without side effects.

To best explain how Chinese medicine works the cause and cure: there is a game called “Rock, Paper, and Scissors”, where paper covers rock, scissors cut paper and rock smashes scissors.

Same with ancient Empire arranged positions toward herbal prescript position. There are chief, deputy, assistant and envoy in the herbal formulas, they are balanced to each other and work together as a team.

Every herb in China is regulated as a drug, if you don’t know how to use it properly it could cause side effects, therefore, how to formulate them, without much side effect is important.

Chinese medicine is a treasure of human history. It represents spectacular time of ancient Chinese history. Chinese medicine involves philosophy, culture, religious, diet, arts, music, archeology, literature. You name it. It is come from China, but it belongs to the world. Chinese medicine should not have boundary with the Western world, because I truly believe it will benefit to all of us!
