Introduction
My name is Michelle. I retired from the Army in 1989 after serving 30 years as an RN. I have seen things in my life that I wish I hadn't, but I've also served in a way that I can be quite proud about. You don't hear about the nurses' life in the Army and what we go through trying to help save lives. It's one of those things that's hard to talk about too.
What's on Michelle's Mind
With the recent events in Asia, with the tsunami suddenly killing all those thousands of people, my mind has been racing. My solution to quickly providing aide to these countries is probably quite the dream. What if, those in Iraq, all the countries over there spending money, time, resources and offering our sons up to do the killing, could be convinced to put things on hold for 30 days. Declare peace, for just 30 days, and then they could return to kill again. But during those 30 days, use all those resources and work together to help the Asian countries. Just 30 days worth of effort, working together.
My neighbor thinks I'm nuts.
What I would like to share about myself
Despite all the awful things we as humans do to one another, we humans still hold the ability and desire to do good by one another. Why do we have to wait to provide our charity, our prayers, our good works, only when a disaster beckons us? Why, do we not share our love with those in our very eye site? The neighbor, the stranger at the bus stop, the child in our very home, the spouse that shares our bed?

Compromise Soup
Take one pot and set in the middle of a city
Ask each person in the city to put one desire in the pot
Simmer until fully blended, do not allow to boil over
Strain off any negative energy
Add tolerance and acceptance
Stir vigoursly with love
Smile and enjoy with a stranger
