Ombudsman staff and volunteers informally investigate and resolve complaints on behalf of residents. They visit long-term care facilities to be accessible to residents and monitor conditions.
Adult Protective Services Reports of abuse, neglect or exploitation of disabled adults or elder persons (who are NOT residents of nursing homes or personal care homes) should be directed to the APS Central Intake Unit of the Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Aging Services.
